  • There have been roughly 750,000 searches on Pornhub involving the word “joker” following the film’s release.
  • Harley Quinn still is the number one most-searched comic book character on Pornhub.

You know what they say about big feet…and apparently, Joaquin Phoenix’s large clown shoes are catching people’s eye.

According to Pornhub’s metrics, there have been over 741,000 searches involving the word “joker” in the past four days following the highly-anticipated release of the new Joker movie. TMZ broke the news, noting that the biggest spike in joker porn searches—a whopping 291,628—came this past Sunday.

The higher rate of joker searches on Sunday isn’t surprising, given that Sunday has traditionally been the day that folks watch the most porn, reports CNET.

Nevertheless, it’s common for porn to reflect cultural trends and gamer/comic culture.

In fact, Margot Robbie’s character Harley Quinn had over 10 million searches last year on Pornhub alone. Of course, the surge in searches started in 2016 after the release of Suicide Squad, and we can only expect to see that number increase once her solo film, Birds of Prey comes out in 2020.

In addition to films and comic culture, porn also reflects politics.

At the end of 2018, Pornhub released its year in review, revealing which categories had the most (and least) searches.

Donald Trump amassed 300,000 searches on Pornhub in 2018, averaging 822 searches a day.

Melania had twice as many searches as her husband, whereas Stormy Daniels completely annihilated searches with over 30 million, skyrocketing her from the 671-ranked adult entertainer on Pornhub in 2017 to number one.

Really, all I can ask is that these trends don’t inspire any Trump-Joker pornos.
